It all began at Draft League on a Thursday night in San Antonio. Mutual friends introduced Dejiana and Keone, they started talking, and without realizing it at the time, that night became the beginning of their story.

A few weeks after meeting, we had our first official date. We watched a movie, went to dinner, and ended the night watching a Dodgers, where Dejiana taught Keone everything he needed to know about baseball because he knew absolutely nothing. We ended the weekend together by becoming officially boyfriend and girlfriend!

Being official didn’t mean being in the same state just yet. Keone was in Arizona, Dejiana was in Texas, and long-distance became part of our story early on. But we still made time for each other, including our first volleyball tournament together!

With Bunni by her side, Dejiana packed up her life in San Antonio and headed to Phoenix. With a new apartment, a new job, and the distance between her and Keone finally closing, Arizona marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Meet Tuxedo—Tux for short! Adopting their first dog together was another exciting step in Dejiana and Keone’s journey and made their little family feel even more complete.

On April 11, 2025, Keone got down on one knee on a private stretch of Kahala Beach in Hawaii and asked Dejiana to spend forever with him. With the ocean beside them and paradise all around, she said the easiest “yes” of her life!
